Scans describe where price is relative to zones; not a recommendation. This is an educational screen, not a recommendation. The list is generated automatically from end-of-day data that may be delayed or contain errors. Being on the list says nothing about what price will do next.

Method in brief. Nifty 100 constituents, end-of-day weekly candles, the 50% rule for candles, body-to-wick zone lines and a score out of 7. A stock is listed when its nearest fresh or once-tested demand zone is within 3% of the last close. Read the full method.

What is this list of stocks near a weekly demand zone?

This list shows Nifty 100 stocks whose latest end-of-day close is inside, or within 3% above, a fresh or once-tested demand zone drawn on weekly candles. A demand zone is a price area where demand previously overwhelmed supply and price rallied away. The list is an automated, educational screen for studying zones, not a recommendation.

Latest scan snapshot. In StockNotify's weekly scan after the 16 Oct 2026 NSE close, 24 of 99 Nifty 100 stocks were inside or within 3% of a fresh or once-tested weekly demand zone. Pattern mix: 13 RBR, 11 DBR. 6 of the zones were fresh and 12 stocks were already inside its zone. Nearest to the proximal line: POLYCAB, PIDILITIND, TORNTPHARM.

How do you read this table?

Each row is one stock and the single nearest qualifying demand zone on weekly candles. Prices are in rupees and come from the latest end-of-day close, so they will differ from the live price during market hours.

ColumnWhat it means
Zone patternHow the zone formed: DBR (drop-base-rally), RBR (rally-base-rally), RBD (rally-base-drop), DBD (drop-base-drop) or WB (a move without a base).
ProximalThe zone line nearest to the current price, drawn at the base candle bodies. It is the top of a demand zone.
DistalThe far line of the zone, drawn at the extreme wick. A close beyond it means the zone has failed.
DistanceHow far the last close is above the proximal line, as a percentage of price. "Inside zone" means the close is between the two lines.
ScoreStructure rating out of 7: freshness (up to 3), leg-out strength (up to 2) and base length (up to 2).
FreshnessFresh means price has not come back to the proximal line since the zone formed. Tested once means it came back once and the zone held.

How is this scan built?

The list is produced by the same zone detector that draws the demand and supply overlay on StockNotify charts. The rules are fixed and applied identically to every stock, so the output is consistent, but it is still an automated reading of price structure and can miss context a person would see.

  1. Universe: the current Nifty 100 constituents as published by NSE Indices, refreshed weekly. Stocks outside the index are not scanned.
  2. Candles: end-of-day daily, weekly and monthly candles for each NSE equity — about fourteen months of daily history, ten years of weekly history and the full monthly history available.
  3. Candle classification: each candle is labelled with the 50% rule. A body larger than half the candle's range is an exciting candle; anything smaller is a base candle.
  4. Zone marking: DBR, RBR, RBD, DBD and without-base patterns are marked body-to-wick: the proximal line at the base candle bodies and the distal line at the furthest wick. The still-forming latest candle is ignored when drawing structure.
  5. Filters: zones broken by a close beyond the distal line, zones tested twice or more, and zones without good closing — where none of the first three leg-out candles closes beyond the leg-in candle — are discarded. Each remaining zone gets a score out of 7.
  6. Proximity: for each stock the nearest remaining demand zone at or below the last close is taken. The stock is listed if price is inside the zone or no more than 3% above the proximal line.
  7. Order: rows are sorted by distance to the proximal line, nearest first, and then by score.

How should you use this list responsibly?

Treat every row as a prompt to study a chart, not as a decision. A zone near price is only one input; trend, higher-timeframe context, results dates and position size matter as much as the zone itself.

  1. Verify it on the chart. Open the stock in StockNotify or your own charting tool and check the base, the leg-out and the freshness yourself. Look for news, results or corporate actions that could override the zone.
  2. Plan the risk before anything else. Decide the price at which the idea is wrong — in this method, just beyond the distal line — and size the position so that being wrong costs a small, fixed share of your capital. The position size calculator does the arithmetic.
  3. Set an alert instead of watching the screen. Create a free StockNotify account and set a price alert near the proximal line, or track a planned entry, stop loss and target with trade lifecycle alerts.

Frequently asked questions

How often is this list updated?

The scan runs after the NSE close on every weekday, at about 4:20 PM IST, using end-of-day candles, and this page refreshes within roughly an hour of a new result. Data can be delayed, a run can occasionally fail and market holidays add no new candle, so check the last-updated time and confirm prices on a live chart.

Why is a stock I expected missing from the list?

A stock appears only when its nearest qualifying zone passes every rule: fresh or tested once, not broken by a close beyond the distal line, good closing (a leg-out candle closes above the leg-in within one to three candles), and price inside the zone or within 3% of the proximal line. Stocks outside the Nifty 100, zones tested twice or more, and zones the detector ranks below stronger ones are left out.

Does being near a demand zone mean the price will rise?

No. A demand zone shows where demand was strong in the past; it does not predict what happens next. Zones fail regularly, especially around results, news or sharp market-wide moves. Treat the list as a starting point for your own chart study, and decide in advance the price at which your idea is proven wrong.

What do the score and freshness columns mean?

The score rates the zone's structure out of 7: up to 3 points for freshness, up to 2 for the strength of the leg-out and up to 2 for a short base. Fresh means price has not returned to the proximal line since the zone formed; tested once means it returned once and held. A higher score describes cleaner structure, not better odds.

Is this the same as a list of stocks near support?

Close, but stricter. A support level is usually a line drawn through earlier lows. A demand zone is the support area left by a specific structure: a strong move into a short base and a strong move out. This list only shows stocks near fresh or once-tested demand zones, each with a proximal line to watch and a distal line where the support has failed.

Which timeframe should I look at first?

In this method higher timeframes carry more weight. Many traders begin with the monthly or weekly zone for context and then use the daily chart to refine the area and plan the risk. The multi-timeframe analysis lesson explains how the timeframes fit together before you rely on any single list.

More zone scans

Compare the same stocks across timeframes and sides. A stock that appears near a demand zone on one timeframe may sit near a supply zone on another.

Educational screen only. Nothing on this page is investment advice, research or a recommendation to trade any security, and inclusion in a list is not an endorsement. Zones are generated automatically from end-of-day data that may be delayed, incomplete or wrong; verify every level on a live chart before acting. Trading involves the risk of loss. Do your own research or consult a registered investment adviser before making investment decisions.
